About Dr. Martinez

A story of resilience in service of others

As a three-time Hodgkin Lymphoma survivor and autologous stem cell transplant recipient, I know illness not only from the clinical side, but also from within.

I'm a clinical psychologist, a graduate of Ponce School of Medicine (2005). I have more than 21 years accompanying people through life's most difficult moments.

In my practice I integrate humanistic-existential psychology, mindfulness, radical acceptance, and self-compassion with a culturally sensitive approach for the Latino and LGBTQIA+ communities.

My therapeutic approach

Acceptance is not resignation

I work from an integrative perspective — combining the best of evidence-based psychology with a holistic and deeply human form of accompaniment.

"It is possible to find meaning even in the midst of suffering. Self-compassion can become your greatest source of strength."

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Cultivate presence, reduce suffering, and develop a more compassionate relationship with oneself.

Radical Acceptance

Accepting reality as it is — without resignation — as a gateway to inner peace.

Self-Compassion

A deep source of strength — especially during illness, loss, and uncertainty.

Humanistic-Existential Therapy

Search for meaning, purpose, and dignity amid suffering and life's deepest questions.

Holistic Wellbeing — Reiki · Craniosacral · Spiritual Intelligence

Integration of holistic modalities for those seeking accompaniment beyond the conventional.
